N.Vangs at Inderøy in Trøndelag is one of Norway's largest manufacturers of trailers for transporting the largest machines. Hytrans drawbridges make the trailers even more flexible and user-friendly for Vangs customers.
-When building a transport trailer for large wheel loaders, dump trucks or forestry machines, you want what we call wheel wells, which make the load more secure, steadier and lower on the trailer. However, while this is important for the trailer, it limits the trailer's applications. With Hytrans' wheel wells, our trailers become even more flexible as transportation solutions," says Kristoffer Klepp at Vangs.
-"The challenge, however, is that no two trailers are exactly the same. Due to Hytrans' expertise in tailoring everything, we can still offer Vangs complete solutions for overhead cranes," says Tore Steinsøy, Sales Manager at Hytrans.
Aluminum is the solution
-"Vang's goal is to build the lightest trailers on the market.
For us, aluminum - where it can be used - is therefore essential. We want to build light to save the environment, cut fuel consumption, transport more goods and minimize wear and tear on tires and equipment. Aluminum is therefore an important contribution to these goals," Klepp explains.
The driver's wishes are important
Hytrans' ability to deliver tailor-made solutions is also an important success criterion for Vangs.
-"Everyone wishes there were fixed targets for everything we build, but that's not the case. On the contrary. We have to tailor everything down to the millimeter and many times the specifications and wishes come from the driver of the car. We usually say that our trailers are handmade, because we have so many specific adaptations," says Klepp.
-"This makes a partner who can deliver on this hugely important for us - and Hytrans is really good at this," says Klepp.
Another important factor for Vangs is safety. Loading and unloading are two very critical moments during transportation. Millimetre measurements and adaptations are all about this. The equipment must be able to withstand the stresses it is subjected to and be stable. Accidents are dangerous for personnel and extremely costly.
